Development Mechanism (CDM) Project Development
In 1997, the Kyoto Protocol established the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), which enables Annex I countries (developed countries and economies in transition) of the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) to meet their GHG (greenhouse gas) reduction targets at lower cost through projects in developing countries. As a result of the Kyoto Protocol, carbon has become a tradable commodity with an associated value. One tonne of CO2 (carbon dioxide) reduced through a CDM project and certified by a designated operational entity is known as a CER (certified emission reduction). A CER can be traded to generate revenues. Energenics
manages transportation-based CDM projects for our clients from start to
finish by looking after all aspects of the project’s activity cycle
including arranging, designing, validation/registration, monitoring, verification/certification,
and credit issuance. Energenics takes the complexity out of CDM projects
for clients who want to offset their greenhouse gas emissions through
use of our technologies and turn them into valuable revenues. |
